MERNER-PFEIFFER HALL OF SCIENCE, ALBRIGHT COLLEGE
In March 2009, renovations began on Merner-Pfeiffer Hall of Science at Albright College. The electrical renovations are being performed by H.B. Frazer, one of the contractors affiliated with the IBEW Local 743, and is expected to be completed by March 2011. Chad Freeman, the foreman representing H.B. Frazer and IBEW Local 743, has overcome many obstacles throughout the entire project. At the project's peak, twenty-two IBEW members worked hard onsite to get the work done before classes resumed in the fall of 2010.
Previous renovations to the Merner-Pfieffer Hall of Science had been done in 1965. With much of the equipment being outdated, the college wanted to upgrade to more modern equipment. The college also neede more space to accomadate the science program's ever-increasing number of student enrollment.
The general contractor for the entire project is IMC Construction of Malvern, PA. Bill Robinson is the Senior Superintendent overseeing the project; he stated that H.B. Frazer is one of IMC's favorite contractors on the job. They have worked together on serval projects in the past years. When complex projects arise, IMC frequently relies on H.B. Frazer.
The late Senator Michael O'Pake played a crucial role in creating this and other projects for local contractors. His hard work and dedication to working families will be missed.
